{SS} Framed Poppies Garden

Hi everyone-
Have you missed me?  Well, I hope so, cause I have missed you all!
Things are still hectic around here, but they are going a lot smoother.

I've been staring at my stamps for weeks, so today I decided to actually make the time to do some crafting!  The idea for this card has been buzzing in my head, since having a conversation with my friend Amanda!   So I had to get it out.

{SS} Happy Birthday w/ Hanging Fuchsia

Morning-
Happy gloomy Saturday!!  Love the overcast weather, great day to spend outside doing some yard work!!!  My middle boy LOVES veggies and I mean LOVES!!!  He eats tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers right off the tree/vine!  A few months back his class visited a local farm, where they got to pick veggies like carrots, beets, and sugar snap peas!   He loved the sugar snap peas that we planted the seeds they give him and this plant is well over 4 feet tall!!!  This morning we found the first peas!!  Very exciting!!

I've been loving playing with my embossing paste on my cards and I hope you don;t get tired of seeing them!!  One this card I used white embossing paste and re-inkers to create the colored background!!  Very little goes a long way, remember that if you decide to try this technique out!
Colored the image with Zig Clean Brush Markers again!  :)  Loving them very much!!

{SS} Wild Roses Mixed Media Tag

Morning-
Thank you so much for peeking in today... I know that I've been really quiet lately and it's all for good reasons I promise you!  I was delighted to finally get some crafty time in this weekend, as I have missed not being able to craft.
I am so impressed with myself this week.  I had no idea of where this project was going, but I just went with it and I have to admit it felt good!!  ;)
I played with my zig markers and I still haven't gotten the hang of them, but I will say that I just love how bright the colors are. I tried a few different techniques on all the flowers, so if they don't all look the same that is why.

{SS} Eskimo Folklore

Morning everyone.
Today I am sharing a card made with the beautiful quote from the Eskimo Folklore stamp set.
I have a hard time with sympathy cards, not making them, just finding the right words.
That is why I love the sentiment because you can use it on the front of a card like I have or on the inside.

I created the background using Tim Holtz distress inks:
Then I lightly misted the watercolor paper, so that colors would blending, but not too much water.  I didn't want them to run into one another too much.

I then took my Tim Holtz Splatter brush and Lumin-Arte: Heavenly White, to give it some shimmery splotched.  Stamped the scroll star stamp with pigment ink.

The sentiment is embossed using SweetStamps Detailed White embossing powder on Parchment paper.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!

Thanks for stopping by.

{SS} Wooden Chick Tags

Happy Easter everyone!!!
Hope you have a fun-filled weekend planned with lots of CANDY and LOVE and LAUGHTER!
This year we bought some See's Candies thru my son's school and I love the pretty Easter paper, but it was just lacking a little something!   So I turned to my supplies for a little help.

I had so much fun making these wooden tags.
Here is a picture tutorial on how I achieved it.
Supplies:
Memento Ink: Rich Cocoa
Wooden Tags
Stamps: Bunny and Chicks Circles

I bought the wooden tags from Michaels, during Christmas, not sure if they still have them, but there are lots of other companies that make them too.   I took the black round sticker off and lightly sanded it, to give it a smoother surface.   Then I stamped the image using the Memento ink and I held it in place for about 15 seconds, that way the wood would soak up the ink.

Then I colored them using Prismacolor pencils.   I only used three colors and not a lot of pressure was needed when applying color.  Just remember to color with the grain of the wood first and then go back and fill in the gaps, once the first layer has been applied.

Here is a close up of one of the tags.

Happy Easter and thank you for stopping by today!

{SS} Peep Peep

Morning sweeties.
Easter is right around the corner and I love having the perfect stamps from SweetStamps to create those special cards!!

So, while you are still playing with March's release...Did see April's release!!??
24 brand spanking new sets!!!
OMG...They are so cute and I mean REALLY CUTE!!!
Check them out HERE

For my card today, I am using Easter Baskets, which was released sometime last year.
The image has been colored using Copics and then used a die cut to create the shape it's in.
I adhered some fun foam behind the image before applying it to the card base.  Once the card was completely assembled, I added glitter glue (Stardust) to the edge of the white base and the purple bow.   (**The inside of card says: Happy Easter)

Hope you've enjoyed my card today, as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you.
Until next time.

{S.S} Starstruck Medallion Bag

Morning-
Are getting tired of my creative bags?  I hope not,  I'm actually enjoying finding new ways to decorate these babies.  This round, it's a canvas bag!!  :)
I used my favorite versatile stamps, Starstruck Madallion and Royal Ink Spot
I stamped the image randomly and enjoyed doing so!!  :)
Once I ran out of room, I noticed that the bag looked sort of plain.
So I went through and added Gloss Glastique to the open circles on the tips of the stamp and in the center.  I then place the bag outside exposed to direct sunlight, for about 30 mins.
The Glastique dried hard and cleared.  It looks so pretty and like added jewels.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
Have a fantastic week.

{SS} Die-cut Foiled Burlap Bags

Hello Sweeties and HAPPY Saturday!!
I've been on foiling kick, ever since I made my hubby's Valentine's Day card.
It is so much fun and SUPER easy too!!
So I found out that I could foil material!!!  Yes!!!!
I grabbed the most intricate dies from SweetStamps: Flourish Medallions and Mini Medallion and I put this kit to the test.  The Deco Foil Iron Adhesive Sheets: includes5 sheets of bonding paper and parchment  paper too.
My girlfriend, Jennifer sent me these bags that she told me she picked up from Michaels for my birthday.  The instruction how to use this is every simple.  I used dies, so I placed the parchment paper down first, them the rough side of the bonding paper and then my die.  Ran it through my cutter.   Since these dies are so intricate, it took a little bit of work to get the bonding paper out.
I made sure that the parchment paper was removed from the back of the bonding paper.  Placed the die cut on my burlap bags, sandwiched between two sheets of printer paper and ran it through my laminator!!!  I did run it through my laminator!!!  It was thin enough to feed through with no problem.  So try this at your own risk!!!  :)  Once it cooled, I removed the paper that's on top of the bonding paper.  So by running it through the laminator the first time, we simply bonded/adhered it to the burlap bags, now by removing the thin sheet will expose the adhesive to allow the foil to stick to it!!!  As you can see in the photo above, the far right photo is what it looks like once the paper is removed!!  :) I chose Deco Foil Lime, I trimmed a section of the foil, sandwiched again between the two printer paper and ran it through again.  Let it cool for a few second and lift the foil to reveal the beauty of the foil!!  :)
Here is a photo of the completed bags!!!!
I have a new addiction and I am loving it!!!

Thank you for swinging by today and make sure you stop by SweetStamps tomorrow, for the start of our new monthly challenge.

{SS} Delicate Heart Foiled

Morning love birds!
Are you ready for Valentine's Day tomorrow?!!
Don't laugh, but my hubby and I have a tradition of going to In & Out for Valentine's Day.  It started years ago when we started dating and it just stuck!!  We get a lot of mixed views, but I think he's lucky cause he gets off the hook!!  LOL

I created this card for my husband and I just LOVE how this Delicate Hearts image looks foiled in red!!  I used Super Sticky Tape 3/8  and Deco Foil: Red to create the border and also foiled it, then I placed the heart image on top.  I also used the sentiment from the set: "Lots of LOVE" inside the card also foiled, but I can not take great pictures handed!

A few things to look out for on the SweetStamps blog:

{SS} Surfs Up

Morning- It's my turn to post over at the SweetStamps Blog today.
We've been experiencing very weird weather patterns here in California.  It's a bit frustrating because it does not feel like we had a winter at all, but I am so ready for Summer to be here.

So before I move into my card today, I want to remind you to check out January's release HERE!!

For my card today, I used Splish Splash 6x6 stencil and distress ink markers Peacock Feathers and Broken China to create the background.  Once the background was dried, I used Star Dust Glitter Glue to accent the tips of the drops.   This surfboard bear is from the Beach Bears collection.  I colored the image using the same watercolor paper as the stenciled background.  I then used gamsol to give it a more smooth finish.

Thanks for stopping by today.
See you back tomorrow!

{SS} Happy Day Wishes

Good morning everyone.
Chiming in a little late this week.  Trying to get back in the groove and find my mojo spirit.
Do you ever sit at your desk and just stare at your supplies?
When I get crafters block, I turn to my distress inks.
With no plan in mind, without a guide, I just color, blend, spritz until something clicks.

So before I move into my card today, I want to remind you to check out January's release HERE!!

So for my card today, I am playing with my distress inks.
I used the following colors on my card today:

I painted my Piccolo: Cock A Doodle Do with black gesso and simply laid it on top of the colored background.  I then stamped the sentiment using Versafine ink.

{SS} Watercolor Poppies

Good morning!!
Do you set New Year resolutions?
I did!! I created a few for my personal life and also my hobby! I have a very unorganized room right now and TONS of bins with supplies, that I need to start purging.  So that is one of my goals!  To purge half of the things I have in bins before the end of the year.  That doesn't sound too hard I know, but I am being very realistic; especially in finding the time to do so!

Sorry to be rambling today.   :)
Remember to check out January's release HERE!!

So today, I created a simple card using Poppy Garden
I've had this stamp for awhile now and I feel guilty for not ever using it!!
I stamped the image onto Tim Holtz Watercolor paper using Memento Tuxedo black ink.
As you can see, the black bled out a little when on contact with water.  This started to bother me a little, but water coloring is NOT to be perfect.  I'm having to learn to let go of the control embedded from using Copic markers.   I then pulled out my Peerless swatches and colored using a water brush. I used "hi" from the Simple Greeting stamp set.

{SS} Stencils in the Kitchen

Morning Sweeties!
I hope that you all had amazing Christmas with all your loved ones yesterday.
We still have a few more families to visit during the holidays, but I've enjoyed every moment of it.

We never show up empty handed to our visits, so I have a little baking machine this year.
I even attempted to make my first Tiramisu cake!   The attempt was not difficult, it was the waiting to taste it that was. I wanted to let it chill for 8 hours or overnight!!
So I once I completed assembling the cake, the top looks rather bland and I could have just sprinkled cocoa powder, but I wanted it to look pretty!!
I went into my craft room and located my envelopes of SweetStamps Stencils.
I wanted to use a Star stencil, but I could not find it!!  Happens everytime!  :)
I laid the SweetStamps Encircled Diamonds on top of the Tiramisu and sprinkled the cocoa powder, using a shifter over top of the stencil.
I did get a little heavy handed on a few spots, but overall the Tiramisu looked AMAZING.
So make sure to remember all your craft tools when in the kitchen baking.
AND I am happy to report that it was also VERY DELICIOUS!!!  :)

Before I log off, wanted to you remind you that we still have 2 open challenges going on:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

{SS} Floating Snowflake Ornament

Good mornin sweeties!
Today, I am sharing a Christmas ornament that I made using some awesome product from SweetStamps, for our new "Anything But A Card Challenge"
These were so easy and so much fun to make that I ended up making 6 for my tree this year.
Isn't it gorgeous!!!
I heat embossed the largest snowflake in the Picollo Snowflake Accent set with Aged Pink Enamel Powder, which I love because it carries specks of white and gold in the mix.
I then used Tiny Snowflake Border and some white Stazon ink and stamped the back portion of the ornament.
I added glitter glass to the bottom of the bulb before sealing it closed.
Added a burlap bow and tied with a  couple of mini jingle bells.
I then adhered it a dab of hot glue.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you again on Monday!
Until next then.
