Morning- It's my turn to post over at the SweetStamps Blog today. 

We've been experiencing very weird weather patterns here in California.  It's a bit frustrating because it does not feel like we had a winter at all, but I am so ready for Summer to be here.  

So before I move into my card today, I want to remind you to check out January's release HERE!!

For my card today, I used Splish Splash 6x6 stencil and distress ink markers Peacock Feathers and Broken China to create the background.  Once the background was dried, I used Star Dust Glitter Glue to accent the tips of the drops.   This surfboard bear is from the Beach Bears collection.  I colored the image using the same watercolor paper as the stenciled background.  I then used gamsol to give it a more smooth finish.

Happy Friday everyone-

Well I am almost back from vacation!! Have you even noticed that I've been gone??!  :) 

Well it is time for another challenge at Stamp and Create w/ Magnolia.
The challenge theme, for the next 2 weeks is:
Christmas in July

For my card today, I am using Dancing with Stars Tilda, which I have colored with my distress inks and markers.  I am really loving coloring my images, especially my Magnolias in this medium.  I have used MME: Lost & Found Christmas for my background paper. Added tons of Stardust the edge of the card base, Tilda's wings and the rolled flowers. Crystal glitter glue the trim of her dress.
The base of the card was created/cut using my Silhouette.
Hope you aren't blinded by all the bling but, I do love the way it all looks.

I am excited to say that I have started my Christmas cards already!! I have been taking great advantage of all the Christmas in July challenges and this is my first Magnolia Christmas too! :)
So I am feeling quite cheeky with myself.

SweetStamps #110

Hello everyone-

Today and I am late posting my card for SweetStamps Challenge today.

I have to be honest, it's been a LONG 3 weeks. 

The boys got the stomach flu and Tommy had to go to the ER to get fluids and medicine to stop him from purging from both ends.  The feeling, from seeing my little one so sick is really indescribable. 

I just wish I could take it all away.

So in trying to get everything and everyone back to normal, my assignments had to take a back seat last week.  Now I am playing catch up and now getting started on Easter.

Which brings me to today's challenge this week. 

This weeks challenge at SweetStamps is:

EASTER

This is Taylor the Bunny, the newest lil' Sweeties created by Jacqueline Hill.
I have stamped him on watercolor paper and embossing with detail black embossing powder.
I have colored this cutie with my distress markers.  Here is a close up.

I wanted to make a card for one of my boys, so I had to stay away from the pinks.  I used MME: Fiddlestick, because the colors were muted, but still had pastel tones to them.  I stamped the sentiment "Happy Easter", on a wood veneer. You have to heat set the ink, when stamping on the wood veneer and I learned that hard way. LOL

Simple Cards

Hello sweet friends.

Hope you enjoyed your day off yesterday.

I did a lot of crafting....Now all I have to do is wait for good lighting and take pictures of  all of them.

So today at Sweet Stamps, we have a new challenge for you.

This weeks theme is:

Clean and Simple

Now, just recently Sweet Stamps, released some amazing new stamps. 

I mean AMAZING!!!!

Today I am showcasing 4 for of the new floral stamps.

These have been stamped with distress ink embossing ink and embossed with black detail embossing powder on watercolor paper.  I then colored all my images with distress ink markers.

Here is a closer look at Poppies and Hydrangea.

A closer look at Autumn Blossoms and Summer Blossoms.
I kept the cards very simple of course, keeping them as the focal point.  I just added some simple stitching, colored cardstock and mounted them on either kraft or white cardstock.

Good morning my sweet blogging friends.
Oh, how I have been enjoying this warm weather we are having here in CA.
It was a sunny 80 degrees today, but that's not going to last long. There is rain in the forecast. ;(

Well today at SweetStamps, we have a new challenge for you and I know you will love it.
This weeks theme is:
Lace and Pearls

I LOVE this card!!  I really, really do.  This was my first time making a criss cross card and I don't know why I never thought of doing one before.  It really adds a lot of fanciness to a card.  The final card itself measures 6x6.  The cardstock I used is from Bazzill Basics and the patterned paper is from Prima: Zephyr.
I love all the beautiful bright and bold floral prints in this pack, it really worked well with Lady Flower image, which was colored with my distress markers, on watercolored paper.  The lace came from the stash box.  The cluster of flowers were all created using Cheery Lynn Design Dies.  The tab on the insert is the sentiment tag, but I folded it over and placed a pearl on it.  You have to excuse me though.  I  didn't see that the pearl had slipped until I started writing this post. :)

Watercoloring w/ SweetStamps

Good morning sweet stampers!!

Do you like to water color?  Or are you one to admire those that love to watercolor?

Well I fall into both of these categories. 

I love the look and effect that watercolors can give an image and I also admire those that color without effort.

SweetStamps #70: MicroBeads

Good morning everyone-

Sorry if I seem a little rushed this morning, but it’s because I am!!  LOL. I had a super long weekend…A really good one too.

So let’s get to today’s post.

Today’s SweetStamps challenge is:

MICROBEADS

I have a love/hate relationship with these little obnoxious beads!!!  They are so fun to play with and look really great on projects, but man they can be a real drag if they get everywhere!!!   

Here is my card sample for this week:

Aren’t those Swans beautiful???  This stamp is called Swan Family  by Jacqueline Hill. I colored the image using my new and fabulous Distress Markers!! I love them so MUCH!!!!!! So you will be seeing a lot more watercolor images once I head to the supply store to stock up on on more watercolor paper!!!  YEAH!!  Here a close up of the image, you can see the microbeads a lot better in this shot.

So I hope that you will add a little microbead or sugarbeads to your project this week and join us.
