{SS} #214: Quarter Fold Card

Good morning!!  Happy Saturday too!
Today, I am up to share my creation with you for this weeks challenge over at SweetStamps.
This week it's: Technique Spotlight: Quarter Fold Card
I have personally never seen or even heard of this type of card before, but it seemed interesting and even fun to try.  You can find a tutorial HERE
This is what my card looks like completed and folded!!
The fun comes to life when you open it.  :)
The tutorial suggested 4 squares, but I opted for cutting the patterned paper the length and width of the card, since I knew I was going to be doing a lot of layering.
This is what the card looks like once it is all opened up.
The sentiment is from the Cute As A Bunny stamp set.
This is what the outer layers of the card looks like.  This was the only way I could capture how cute this card really is!!
Finally here is that cute mocha bunny all colored up and sitting on that fence surrounded by those flowers!!  I really love this set...can you tell!!!  :)  Well I hope you will give this technique a try if you haven't already joined us this week.  The possibilities are endless.

Here are the product I used on my card:

I would like to share my card in the following challenges:

Happy Friday everyone-
Well I am almost back from vacation!! Have you even noticed that I've been gone??!  :)

Well it is time for another challenge at Stamp and Create w/ Magnolia.
The challenge theme, for the next 2 weeks is:
Christmas in July
For my card today, I am using Dancing with Stars Tilda, which I have colored with my distress inks and markers.  I am really loving coloring my images, especially my Magnolias in this medium.  I have used MME: Lost & Found Christmas for my background paper. Added tons of Stardust the edge of the card base, Tilda's wings and the rolled flowers. Crystal glitter glue the trim of her dress.
The base of the card was created/cut using my Silhouette.
Hope you aren't blinded by all the bling but, I do love the way it all looks.

I am excited to say that I have started my Christmas cards already!! I have been taking great advantage of all the Christmas in July challenges and this is my first Magnolia Christmas too! :)

*SweetStamps #124

Happy Tuesday everyone!
It is time for another themed challenge over at SweetStamps
This weeks challenge is:
SNOW
Can you believe that we are over the half way point to 2014?
Time is flyin...and Christmas will be here before you know it.
So this week, we want to see some snow on your creation.
For my card today, I am using Stitched Button Snowman, which I colored using my Copic markers.
I adore this snowman and I am glad to start my Christmas collection for 2013 with him.
I created a window scene with the snowman and I know he doesn't belong in the house, but let's not take my card with literal value, please! :)
I added liquid applique to the window and grass bush in the planter box.

Love YOU

Good morning!!
HAPPY MOTHER's DAY, to all women out there!!
I hope that you all have a beautiful day with your loved ones.

Which brings me to today's challenge over at Sentimental Sundays.
This weeks theme is:
FOR A SPECIAL WOMAN
We are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles this week and had the opportunity to play with some of their gorgeous images.  I chose to work with Fairy Fae.
I really enjoyed coloring this image and putting this card together. It has more layers and elements than I normally do, but I love it.  My cardstock is from Bazzil and my patterned paper is from MME: Lost & Found 2: Breeze.  I used a lot of dies on my card too.
Lots of Cherry Lynn Design dies.  I am loving my newest addition, Lady Kate Edger.
I LOVE this new dies and I can't wait to add the other 2 to my collection!!! My flowers were cut using Tim Holtz distress cardstock.  LOVE IT!  First time using it and I LOVE it.
Here is a close up of the flower cluster, created using Memory Box:
All my butterflies are covered in glitter, black pearl ink and the wings painted with crackle paint.
I really tried doing  a lot on this card and I hope I didn't over do it.

So whether you are making a card for Mother's Da or for your best girlfriend, we would love to have you share it with us this week.  Make sure to visit the blog and check out the amazing cards they created for that special woman on their lives.

SweetStamps #115

Happy Tuesday!!
It's Tuesday already!!!! WOW...Time is flying and May is just a few days away.
So it is time for another challenge wee over at SweetStamps.
This weeks theme is:
White on White + One Other Color

Here is my card sample.
I really love the look of white on white and then when you add another color you can make it fit for any personal/favorite occasion.  So as you can see, my plus one is red.
I used quiet a few Cheery Lynn Designs product on my card today.
I embossed a strip of textured cardstock with the CDL Wood Grain Embossing plate and matted it back onto the white textured carstock.  The rolled flowers were cut from vellum and the textured cardstock using Memory Box Pinwheel Posie and I applied Stardust glitter glue, which is my FAVORITE!!  I then cut Fanciful Flourishes, Heart to Heart and Mini Pearl French Flair from the same cardstock.
This is the inside of my card using Mr and Mrs stamp, by SweetStamps.   I stamped the image on vellum/parchment paper.  Added a couple of pearls to finish off the inside.

SweetStamps #114

Happy Tuesday!!
I hope that you are having gorgeous and fabulous weather where you are.
So it is time for another challenge wee over at SweetStamps.
This weeks theme is:
Use 3 of Any Item

Here is my card sample.
I LOVE .... LOVE...this card.
The colors are bold and match the paper so well.
I used Pixie Silhoette, which I simply adore!!!
I stamped the image and embossed it with detail fine embossing powder.
Turning to my distess inks, I grabbed Peeled Paint, Victorian Velvet and Ripe Persimmon and colored the image, using the foam applicator. I trimmed the photo and matted it onto kraft cardstock.
Pulled out my paper pads and saw that BoBunny Garden Girl, matched almost perfectly with my colored image.   Do you know how excited I was!!!  LOL...I was one happy crafter.  I just love it when things just fall into place.  I trimmed three different pieces of patterned paper, edged them with Walnut Ink distress and positioned them on kraft cardstock.  Finished it off by sewing all three pieces and adding flourishes that I cut three times, using MB Fresh Foliage.

So a little recap on all the items that I used 3 times:
3 differnt colors of distress inks
3 patterned paper, from the same paper pack
3 cut of the same flourish die

SweetStamps #107: Green

Happy Tuesday!!!
Oh...what a day...what a day!!
A beautiful day too!!

Today at Sweet Stamps, we have a fun challenge for you.
This weeks theme is:
GREEN

Here is my card for this weeks challenge.
I really love...I mean LOVE how this came out.
This is a close up of the layers of the butterfly.
I cut the Tesstina Border out of SU card stock and used the glue pen to add adhesive to the very, very small areas and placed it on Coconut white card stock by Bazzill.  I then used Mini Pearl French Flair and cut that out of Bazzil Kraft and the stacker version of the die out of Bazzill Coconut.  I LOVE these dies.  I know they have been around forever but, they are new to me and I LOVE them.  The butterfly negative is Darla Butterfly and Vivienne Butterfly by Memory Box.  I used the Happy Birthday sentiment, which is by Sweet Stamps; another fave of mine and to finish it all off the Fanciful Flourish by Cherry Lynn Designs.

IBSIC #47: Congrats

Hello everyone-
Thank you for stopping by today.
It's time for another photo inspirational challenge at Inspired by Stamping.
Look at that beautiful picture!!  I love that purple bike and the tulle as window drapes.
Once  I saw the drapes I knew what I wanted to create and this is what I came up with.
I used a brick embossing folder to give the card more texture.
Used a number of die cuts for the window, stems and flowers.
Look in the window....I colored some white tulle by rubbing the distress ink pad to give it's color.
And yes, there is a piece of acetate in the window.  :)
Isn't it just beautiful?  It's perfect card for someone who just recently bought a house.
That is why I used the "Congrats" sentiment from the Cute Circles stamp set.
So join us for a chance of winning 2 Satin or Seam Binding Ribbon, winner's choice.

Before I leave you today, I want to let you know of a couple of other things that's happening at Inspired By Stamping.

Flower Stamp and ANY Die(s) Challenge

Hello my friends-
How are you all doing, this fine Tuesday morning?
I hope that things are sort of warming up for you where you are.

We have a fantastic challenge for you over at Sweets Stamps this week.
This weeks theme is:
FLOWER stamp and ANY Die(s)
I really love the vibrant colors of these Bluebells.  I colored them with my Distress Ink Markers and I kept adding more and more layers of colors after it dried.
I thought I was overdoing it at first, but looking at now...I love it!!
The card was created using TSD Step Card Die.  Ladies...I'm telling you, this is a MOST have for any die collection.  If you love the look of a step and and don't want to deal with the cutting and measuring, well this is the product for you!!  I promise you!!  So the base of the card is Bazzill Kraft and I used some really old but lovely K & Co paper.  The Bluebells image is stamped on watercolor paper and embossed in detail fine embossing powder.  I inked around the image with Antique Linen distress ink and around the edge of the paper with Walnut Stain.
Here is the inside of the card.
I am going to try and finish the inside of all the cards I make.
Another resolution of mine.  I did good last year, but this year I am going to do better!! LOL

SFYTT + Just Us Girls

Hello everyone-
Well I thought I had posted this card already early this week, but it seemed to have just been sitting there.
Sometimes, I have question the reliability of Blogger and its settings….HMMMMM!!
Anyways…. I have a really quick card to share with you today.

I used all dies for this creation!!  It was a really easy and effortless process.  I say that only because I did not include any patterned paper.  If I would have thrown that into the mix…oh, believe me this card would have just been sitting on my desk waiting for some type of l-o-v-e.
Here is a close up of the butterfly die creation:

All the dies used in this creation are from: Memory Box, PTI, Spellbinders and C.C. Designs

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
(I used the butterfly sitting on the flowers as my inspiration)
(Circle, dry embossing, punches, floral, favorite color)

Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Calypso
