{IBS} Happy Birthday

Good morning again!!
Today I am sharing a card using my FAVORITE stamp from IBS!!! (Pirates
Don't get me wrong, they are ALL my favorites, but I have created some pretty awesome boy/masculine cards with this set and I happy to see it be this weeks Blog Candy giveaway too!!  I already had a card in the works for my post today, but I had to change it all up last minute when I found out that it was Joanna's sons birthday this weekend.  Happy Birthday!!!  So in his honor, I made a birthday card just for him.

To create the shaker helm,  cut out about 10 pieces of the helm and layers 7 of them together.  Lay your piece of acetate (transparency) sheet and then the 3 remaining sets. Stamp the image on patterned paper and make marks on the paper and make placement marks, so you apply the adhesive, you know exactly where the patterned paper goes.  Reason  why I layer my cardstock instead of using dimensional tape?  I find that when I use the dimensional tape, I tend to leave gaps, which allow the beads to escape.  Layering the cardstock may be a little more work; however, the results are well worth it.  After the assemble, I sponged distress ink around the entire helm and randomly stamped the rope border image from Background Basics IV.

Here is close up of the shaker card.  I also used the flag from the Pirates set and stamped it muslin fabric, cut it out and wrapped around a toothpick!!  :)
