{IBS} Altered Frame and Shadow Box

Hi everyone-
Today, I have a really…really fun project to share with you.  As of late,  I have been really enjoying making altered items.   It allows the imagination to just run free with all possibilities.  For me it’s also a good way to use projects/items that I have been hoarding too!   My project today, is using Spring Lilacs Paper Pad , Spring Lilacs andVintage Ticket stamp sets. Here is a look at today’s project.

This framed shadow box was created using a frame that I found at Micheal’s and the bottom of a jewelry box.  The frame has been painted several times with a cream color paint.  Once dried, I dabbed gold paint on just the raised part of the flourishes.  I then cut to fit, pieces of the Lilac designer paper and glued using a stylus, to make sure the corners were in securely.

I stamped the ticket from the Vintage Ticket stamp set and placed  bird cage charm over it.  The bird has been colored with colored with watercolor pencils and then i preformed some fussy cutting around the entire image.  I then place the bird in, mounted on 2 really thick foam tabs.  Assembly from there was easy and fun.

I love the way the bird sits inside, with  the image of another one by it side!!    Did you see the feathers?  Those are actual feathers from our Lady Gouldian Finches.  She is molting and so gathering a few for my project was rather effortless!! :)
I was planning on doing a tutorial for you, but I am still sick and I didn't know if you would understand my raspy voice.  In the picture you can see the frame was Violet/Purple when I started.

I would like to share in the following challenges:
