FTH October Blog Hop

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop. We have a Meet the Design Team theme this month, to welcome our new teammates. Our designers are showcasing lots of gorgeous projects and telling us a bit about themselves, too.
As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store. And additionally, we have a “scavenger hunt” game with some prizes right here on the FTHS blog!

If you have arrived from Brenda's blog, then you are on the right trackIf not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

For my project today, I am using Prickles Says Hello
I have a hard time doing "Clean and Simple" cards, but I love the way this one turned out.
My favorite technique is paper piecing!  I love how the layers and the little cuts can make such a huge difference on a card.  On the card, the banner and little hedgehog paws have been cut out, colored and layered on top of the original image.
------------------
And here is a little bit of info on me:
How long have you been on the From the Heart Stamps design team?
I have been with From The Hearts Stamps for 2 years and 8 months, to the date!!  :)  Time flies when you are having fun!

What is something about you that none of the other team members know?
I have 2 Volkswagon Bugs!  The 63 is Candy Apple Red and I call her lady!  The 64, won't be completed for another year or 2.  Finding original parts take a little bit of time to locate, but it's all worth it in the end.

What is your favorite coloring technique?
In this order: Copics,  Color Pencils (Faber-Castell) and  Watercoloring (Distress Inks)

What is your favorite category of images in the FTHS store?
Faithful Friends and Seasonal Celebrations

Who is the last person you sent a card to?
I will admit that I need to get better at this, but besides the loads of Christmas cards I send out?  The last person I sent a card to on my team, was Imke.  I sent her some Habanero seeds!!  :)

Why do you like to make handmade cards?
I love making cards, because I love being able to bring a smile to someone's face.  Not only that, but my recipient is getting a one of a kind card and that makes it extra special.

What is a good tip for printing digital images?
Don't waste paper!  Print as many images on one sheet as you can.
I typically print about 6-8 images on one 8.5 x 11
If your die has cut into the space of another digital image, don't toss it!!
Fussy cut the image out !!

Describe a card making mishap and your solution to fix it.
When using a colorless blender to clean up mistakes, allow the colorless solution to dry, before going back over the area.
------------------
Now head over to Cammie's blog and see what she has created.
Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Monday October 5th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday October 7th.

  7. I love that little hedgehog! And paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques, also! Great job on the CAS style. I struggle with that, too, as I always want to use embellishments everywhere!
Thanks for the tip on fussy cutting an image out when a die cut for another image on the page has "invaded" the space of another image. That's happened to me before!

  8. Cute as can be. Really like the piercing around the edges and I'm sure that the layered paper piecing looks especially wonderful IRL.

  18. I hear you with the CAS cards...I almost feel like I'm cheating if I don't pile on layers of whatever. I'm a work in progress with this, but you did a great job on this. In fact, I've overlooking little Prickles in the store many times, opting for other things; but now that I see him on your card it makes me want him!

Good getting to know you a bit better!

About printing : I do it just like you-multiple images on a page. This saves paper and you always printed images on stock.

PS. The Habenero seeds was very good. We had a good harvest !
