{S.S.} #163: Die Cuts

Good morning sweeties!
I have been running around here with my head literally cut off!!!
Ahhhhh.....I need more hours, more hands and more ME's!!!!  Does anyone have that machine I can borrow ?  LOL!!!

Besides the craziness....Things... I am glad that I can log on today and share the card I made for this weeks challenge over at SweetStamps.
This weeks theme is:
Die Cuts
I really like how these all came together!!!  I had another one, but it wouldn't fit in properly to photograph it very well.  I used Flourish Medallion SweetCuts for the background base.  I split them in half and glued them points, facing one another.  I then cut Tulip Oval SweetCuts out of Black cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I laid that on top of the stick tape.  The negative space was filled with Glitter RITZ white and burnished for a smooth surface. I then took my Copic markers and colored the inside of the Tulips.
The finishing touch is seam binding ribbon colored with distress ink, matching the tulips!! :)
Here is a closer look at both cards.

Looking forward to seeing your swirl project and the interesting ways, this challenge can be interpreted.

JUGS #234: Wild Card

Hi everyone-
I'm posting a little late this morning!!!  Had a super long night!!! My hubby and baby are not well...and you know how it is having a sick grown man and a baby!!!  LOL...It's like having 2 babies!!  :)
Very sadly, today is my last post as guest designer over at "JUGS"
I am honored to have had 5 amazing weeks with these ladies!!   There challenges are awesome and the talent on the team is undeniable!!  Thank you again Nancy and Vicki, for the opportunity!!!  Hope I get a chance to come back in the near future!!  :)

So this weeks challenge is a "TALL and SKINNY"
You must create a card that is: 3.5 x 5.5 in size!!!
I have never made a card this size and I must say, I kinda like!!  :)
My image is from The Greeting Farm: Later Sk8ter  and my paper is from Bella Blvd: Max
The image has been colored with Copics. I used my favorite star embossing folder to add some background interest!! Can you see my glue spot in the corner!!!  LOL.... I could not find my vellum tape and had to find a quick substitute!!

I hope you like my card this week. Make sure you come by and see the amazing inspiration by the rest of the team at JUGS.

{FTH} Sketch #59 w/ a tWiSt: Interacive Cards

Good morning everyone!!
Have you been by FTH today?  Or on Monday?
Well what are you waiting for?  :)  This weeks sketch and twist challenge is up and it's a really fun one.  I love trying new techniques from time to time, so when I saw this weeks twist, i know exactly what I wanted to do!!  :)   Surprise Pop Up card!!
This was my first attempt and I realized, as I was assembling the card and trying to take the folds, I just had too many layers!!  I think 2 layers would be sufficient enough, 2 is pushing it and you don't get crisp folds, so the paper tends not to play nice.  I am using Ali's Kitten, which is simply adorable and the sentiment that peeks up, when you pull on the heart tab; comes with the image.
Cool right?!?!  I was super excited about the end results.  I am always a little iffy, but this was really cool and fairly easy to put together.
So here is a look at this week sketch w/ a tWiSt!!
Hope you will join us and looking forward to seeing some cool interactive cards!!

{SS} #162: Swirls

Good morning sweeties!
How is your week going so far?  Mine seems to be flying at the speed of lightening!!
It seems like every time I fall asleep I lose a week!!  LOL

Well, I am glad to be here today to share with you a card I created for this weeks challenge at SweetStamps.  This weeks challenge is:
SWIRLS
I kick myself for not having the, ArtsyfArtsy Flourishes stamp set.  I had an envisioned another project for this weeks challenge, but I managed to pull it together!! :)  For my project this week, I am using Wondrous Things sentiment .  It is such a beautiful sentiment, so I decided to use it as the focus on my card.    I kept the colors cool and fresh, adding just 3 velvet flowers to it.
I embossed the background paper, using Sizzix Swirl embossing folder and added part of a swirl pearl flourish to add a little bit of bling.

Looking forward to seeing your swirl project and the interesting ways, this challenge can be interpreted.

{IBS} Gift Ideas Challenge

Good morning everyone-
I am super excited to share my project with you today!  When it comes to giving gifts, I love creating unique items, that I know will be cherished or even reused in someway. I know that my lady friends, love purses as much, if not more than I do!!  So when I was browsing through the Silhouette shop earlier this week, I came across some new purse cut files, that really caught my attention.  I narrowed down my choices, selected my paper and cut out all my pieces.  Before, I start my assembly I inked all the edges of cut pieces with distress ink.

Isn't this purse something!?!?  I just love how it all came together and the look is stunning. I finally got to use my new stamp: Mother's Day Bouquet, which I stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I wanted to just add the raised look of the flowers, which can clearly be seen and appreciated.  The patterned paper is from Spring Lilacs Paper Pad.03242014c
Here is a closer look at the front of the purse and the embossing of the flowers.  Pretty right??!! I did some stitching to add more detail to the purse.  I was using my own purse(s) as comparison!!  :)

Now, since I was being very particular to detail, you know I could not for get about the tag, except mine says: For You, which a sentiment from Beautiful Iris which is embossed in gold embossing powder, along with all the buckles on the purse too. There is one more detail for you...

Yes, the bottom!!  LOL...Can't have such an amazing designer purse and not put studs at the bottom.  What girl wants to get this beauty wet or dirty!!Well I hope that you have enjoyed my gift purse creation today, which is perfect  for any young lady/ woman and/or fashionista at heart.

JUGS: #233: Photo Inspiration

Good morning-
Have you any exciting plans this weekend?  My family and I, will be cleaning up are garden.  Pulling weeds and turning the dirt, so that we can get ready to plant our vegetable garden!!
Love seeing my little ones pull the veggies right off the vines and eat them!!

I am here today to share my 4th project as guest designer at "Just Us Girls" Challenge blog.
This weeks challenge is a Photo Inspirational photo.
I took the literal route and used the hot air balloon, clouds and colors.
For my card today, I am using an older stamp set from Inspired by Stamping: The Sky's The Limit. Everything about the stamp set was very appropriate for this weeks challenge.
My patterned paper is from MME: Oliver.  The clouds are dies from PTI, dot embossing folder from Sizzix and distress ink.

Here is a look at this weeks challenge photo:

So I hope that you will let your imagination soar this week and join us.

{SS} March Monthly Technique Challenge

Good morning!!
I am a tad bit posting my card for SweetStamps Monthly Technique Challenge.
So this months challenge is:
Stamping with Markers
I have been seeing this style of card being made and I could not wait to try it out!!
I used Queen Anne's Wildflowers Silhouette for my card sample today.
The image has been colored with Distress Markers.  Once I finished coloring the image, I misted the stamp from about 12 inches away.  I do this so that I don't get puddles of water drops on the stamp.
This is what the image looked like once I stamped it onto the watercolor paper.
It was really pretty just like that, but the next step is what makes it even more beautiful.  Once the image has completely dried, I inked the stamp with embossing ink and stamped the same image on top and overlapping the previous image.  Then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
Pretty right!?!
You can achieve a similar with Copic markers, if you mist the stamp with alcohol or the blending solution!!  So give a try and share with us what you come it with!!
